The 27-year-old who just won Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for October has revealed that he would love to play for the Super Eagles again.

Fulham forward Sone Aluko is targeting a return to the Senior National football team of Nigeria, Super Eagles.

Aluko has seven caps for Nigeria already and last played for the Super Eagles in 2014 for their 2-2 draw with South Africa in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

International career? It’s not over in my head,” Aluko told getwestlondon.co.uk.

But the last coach to pick me passed away. The new coach doesn’t know me as a person or a player, so it’s only now I’ve got a chance to show what I can do.

When you’re on the bench at Hull you aren’t going to get picked for a national team.

If I keep playing well then maybe my chances will come again.

“Sure it’s been frustrating, but now I’m in a good place, my career can kick on from here.”

Aluko has two goals for the Super Eagles in seven appearances.

“My cup runs over.”
Thank you for all the messages. Owe a lot of credit to my teammates and the staff for this. Long may this form continue!
