Owen Software Corporation has introduced its flagship software solution, called the Pathevo solution to the Nigerian market.
Pathevo is one of the leading education and career planning software solutions for individuals interested in pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering or mathematics, otherwise known as STEM.

Unveiling the solution in Lagos and Abuja last week, stakeholders who were in attendance, testified that the solution would truly address unemployment in the country, as it is capable of exposing people to career job opportunities.

Top executives and leaders of the Nigerian education community who were at the launch, include Owen Software Corporation executives, Mr. Tunde Ogunnaike, who is the Vice President of International Operations, and Ms. Kathryn Hughes, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Also in attendance were representatives of Owen Software (Nigeria) Limited, Dr. Joseph Nwobike, a director, and Mr. Akin Fatodu, an executive director.
Developed in the United States with the support of the NASA Space Grant programme, Pathevo has been available only to students in the US until now.

Speaking at the Lagos launch, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Owen Software Corporation,  Dr. Adeboyejo Oni, said : “We are delighted to be able to offer Pathevo to every Nigerian student who dreams of a career in STEM.”
He added:  “Our mission at Owen Software is to enable every individual to explore their STEM interests and to maximise their potential for personal education and career success.”
Pathevo software solution will be available through certified Owen Software Corporation distributors to schools and organisations throughout Nigeria who are set up to educate students from the SS1 to the SS3 level.

Pathevo software solution, according to Oni, had over the years, become a visionary tool that empowers students to make informed education and career decisions.

Pathevo is the brainchild of Oni, a Nigerian who is widely recognised as an expert in the field of STEM education.  During his career as an engineering professor at several US universities (Morgan State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), The George Washington University) and as a Director of the NASA Space Grant program in Maryland, US, Oni advised countless students struggling with choices of academic major, degree programme and career.  Oni envisioned a tool to help these overwhelmed students easily identify their interests and automatically map those interests to specific education and career pathways that could then inform a personal plan with targeted milestones, actions and dates.

“Pathevo is an ideal solution for Nigerian students who wish to pursue their interests in STEM in the United States.  Pathevo enables students to search 5,000 undergraduate and graduate programs and 4,000 institutions scattered through all 50 states. Students can search for the institution that breadth of choices, there is a school and a budget to fit every student’s needs,” Oni said at the Lagos launch.

In addition to proprietary patented technology, Owen Software integrates data sources from the United States Department of Commerce, United States Department of Education and leading industry databases in order to deliver the most current educational, economic, career and financial aid data available.  In addition to educational content, Pathevo provides a single, integrated tool from which users can search 500,000 actual STEM jobs and internship postings by keyword or filter major, geographic area, degree, category, and time frame.
