Yar’Adua replaces 6 NNPC directors

President Umaru Yar’Adua has approved the replacement of six group executive directors of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The replacement, which takes immediate effect, according to the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, was in response to challenges of survival and growth of the corporation.

However, what becomes of the former executive directors was not disclosed. In the new appointments, Dr. Attahiru Baba Yusuf (North East), acting Group Executive Director (Corporate Services), is to replace Mr. Ibrahim Waziri (North East), Group Executive Director (Corporate Services); Mr. Augustine Olusegun Oniwon (North Central), acting Group Executive Director (Refining and Petrochemicals), is to replace Mr. Onochie Azubuike Anyaoku (South East), Group Executive Director (Refining and Petrochemicals).

Mr. Philip Onwuzuike Chukwu (South East), acting Group Executive Director (Exploration and Production), is to replace Mr. Chris Ogiewonyi (South-South), Group Executive Director (Exploration) and Production); Mr. Aminu A. Babakusa (North-West), acting Group Executive Director (Commercial and Investment), is to replace Alhaji Shehu Ladan (North West), Group Executive Director (Commercial and Investment).

Also, Mr. Faithful Abi Abiyesoku (South South), acting Group Executive Director (Engineering and Technology), is to replace Mr. Olusola Williams Ayangbile (South-West), Group Executive Director (Engineering and Technology), while Mr. Michael Abiodun Arokodare (South West), acting Group Executive Director (Finance and Accounts), is to replace Mr. Stanley Lawson (South South), Group Executive Director (Finance and Accounts).
