Bakassi Scandal – $40 million meant for resettlement of residents disappears

A whopping sum of $40 million was earmarked for the resettlement of Nigerians displaced from their ancestral homesteads in the controversial Bakassi peninsula, so reveals Col. Tony Nyiam, a key player in the unsuccessful 1990 coup to overthrow the government of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.

But the news, however, is that most, if not all, of that money cannot be traced today
