German FM visits Nigeria & Ghana

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier starts a three-day trip to Nigeria and Ghana for talks on energy and African conflict zones.

Steinmeier is to meet Nigerian President and Foreign Minister on Wednesday for talks on crisis regions in Africa.

On Thursday, Steinmeier is to travel to Accra in Ghana for talks with President John Kufuor, the current chairman of the African Union.

German Foreign Minister will be accompanied by a delegation of parliamentary deputies and representatives of cultural and research institutions.

Steinmeier selected Nigeria and Ghana for his first visit to West Africa as key players in regional conflict resolution and prevention.
