Nigeria arraigns former governor

Abuja – Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday called Chimaroke Nnamani, two-term governor of Enugu State in the country’s south-east, before a Lagos court on corruption charges.

The agency alleged that the former governor laundered $2,28-million, property of the state, while in office.

The agency, however, failed to produce the accused in court as he was said to be indisposed.

Nnamani was governor of his state between May 1999 and May 2007…
