Nigeria: Why I Won't Work With Yar'Adua, By Atiku (Page 1 of 2)

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar yesterday gave reasons why he is not ready to work with the administration of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, insisting that the verdict of the presidential election petition tribunal remains the pillar of hope on which any other political engagement would be hoisted.

Atiku, resplendent in a white kaftan, with a cap to match, and looking refreshed and younger, also disclosed that his political party, the Action Congress, AC, has a position on whether or not to work with the newly sworn-in president.

The AC leader, who was also a founding member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made it clear that as a "true believer in the rule of law, I would not do anything to jeopardise that principle because Nigeria and Nigerians have benefitted immensely from the crusade to instil the rule of law in our polity".
