One Response to “Plateau`s Dariye Returns as Governor”

Dariye’s impeachment was clearly high-handed and illegal, but there is no doubt at all that Dariye has serious questions to answer about his stewardship. I am glad that the judiciary ruled against executive recklessness, but I expect Dariye will be be dragged before the law, when his term expires, to account for his gross abuse of office. Clearly, a man who skipped bail in the UK has no business being the governor of a Nigerian state. This is a victory for due process and the rule of law, not a victory for Dariye as an individual. I expect he will pay for his crimes shortly.
