AC/ANPP Alliance Will Defeat PDP- Buhari

Former Head of State and ANPP presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed that the ANPP is in alliance talks with the AC even as the nation is set to cast the first ballot on the 14th of this month.

In addition to alliance talks with AC, he stated that his candidacy has been endorsed by six different political parties. He therefore concluded that the parties were set to create a formidable alliance that would defeat the ruling PDP at the presidential polls on the April 21st.

Buhari made this declaration in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital while fielding questions from journalists Monday as part of his campaign tour of the state.

His declaration is coming on the heels of speculations that the ANPP governorship candidate in Lagos State, SEnator Tokunbo Afikuyomi is under serious pressure by the leadership of the party both at the State and national to drop his aspiration so as to ensure a smooth path for the alliance.

    And, other than defeating the ruling party, on what principle or ideology would this Aliance be based? How would it help improve governance? Both the AC and ANPP are already fractured internally. They were unable to work out a merge when they still had the time. Now what Atiku’s candidacy is looking increasingly improbable, Buhari is talking a merger again. It would seem that Buhari would only support a merge that helps him.
