Abuja, 02.25.2007 — President Olusegun Oba-sanjo yesterday said the talk about his reluctance to vacate office on May 29th when his tenure will expire is borne out of “malice and mischief” as he had made up his mind not to spend the night of May 28th in the Presidential Villa.

When one has ran out of all options, there is often one way out, and that way is either the path of reason, or it is a chosen path of destruction. The pact with oneself must determine the pact with society. The path of delusion only blurs the vision that leads to a reasonable pact with society. Whether walking the path of honor or of destruction, one path that is clearly delineated is to honor the pact with society, as embedded in the Nigerian constitution, that in any case is the only negotiable path of lucent honor. May 29th is the end of our pact with President Obasanjo, and as such we wish him the best in the many paths he will tread after his almost decade long years of service to his homeland. In this anticipated period of retirement from public service, in wishing him the best, the canon of his momentous or deceptive service would be veritably judged by history in luminious unveiling of his doings and undoings. Now, is true moment when reality would stare us all in the face for better for worst. President Obasanjo has done his part, the rest is for others to continue where he stopped, good or bad. Uncle Sege, Baba of Nigeia, the indomitable OBJ, good luck in your "final" retirement!
