The celebration of the 10th anniversary of Nigerian independence in 1970 took place in an atmosphere of a euphoria induced by the cessation of the civil war and the beginning oil boom. The Sunday Times, by far the most popular Nigerian newspaper at the time, had asked its readers to summarize Nigeria’s post-independence history in three sentences.

Of Looters, Leaders And The EFCC List

However, I’d like to let Mrs Farida Waziri and the EFCC know that Nigerians are not impressed with this list of 56 mostly minor rogues (the names of such people as Olabode George, Orji Kalu, Iyabo Obasanjo, and some foreigners notwithstanding) stealing only N243 billion – less than £1 billion). There should be more important names on that list; the list is much longer and the amount is much, much more.

Ribadu’s Slippers And Other Lies.
February 24, 2009 | 1 Comments
And it is simply not possible that a man who often spots British suits would go on slippers since 2003! If Ribadu needed a pair of shoes he should simply have asked his magnanimous father-in-law to get one for him just as he bought that house for him in Abuja. The fact that many have applauded his efforts as the premier EFCC chairman does not confer upon him the right to lie.
