The health sector under Olusegun Agagu has been transformed and well equipped to meet the modern trend. Some of these are:
- Rehabilitation of maternity unit & construction of Mortuary at GH Idoani, Accident & Emergency Unit, Ore; Maternity unit, children ward & Pharmacy/x-ray unit Igbara Oke and construction of Fence and gate house at GH, Idanre.
- Restructuring of the Ministry and granting of Autonomy to Hospitals’ Management Board.
- Support of Local Government Areas for Tubaculosis and Leprosy TBL activities increased from N10,000.00 toN120,000 per L.G.A.
- Roll back Malaria Programme: over 48, 911 Insecticide treated long lasting bed nets distributed across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State
- 18 rounds of mass free surgeries under the festival of surgeries with over 200 poor patients benefitting
- 14 rounds of free operations during the Eye Surgery Programme – “Eye Camp
- Over 6,000 citizens received eye glasses and 880cases operated.
- 10,000 patients had free screening for eye diseases and 425 free cataract surgeries were done.
- Production of official pharmaceutical compendia and reference books for health facilities and 3 health Institutions.
- Procurement and installation of 2 units AVRs for State Specialist Hospitals (SSHs) Ikare and Okitipupa (N2.96m).
- Civil works for School of Nursing and Midwifery including Phase A hostel, Classroom and Library (N18.8m).
- Training of Medical Doctors and other Health Care providers at three different workshops and production of two different National guidelines on screening and management of HIV and 462 record officers from state and local government health institution.
- Establishment of life saving skills (LSS) Centre – Okitipupa, Ikare.
- Perimeter Fencing/Security work, landscaping and channelisation, renovation of science laboratory and reproofing of three buildings at the School of Health Technology, Akure.
- Construction of incinerator/collector for School of Nursing and Midwifery
- Purchase of 19 utility vehicles for drug distribution and 24 ambulances for General Hospitals
- Establishment of computer units for students of Schools of Nursing and Midwifery.
- Procurement of drugs and pharmaceuticals under the Pharmaceuticals Management Programme (PMP) and free drug Scheme (N106m).
- Renovation works at Iwaro Oka and new mortuary at Iju-Itaogbolu Medical equipment & furniture provided for Secondary & Primary health facilities (N167.5m).
- Construction of mortuary and renovation of Male & Female medical wards, Ileoluji.
- Procurement of 30 nos. Intra uterine contraceptive for CHCs in 18 LGAs of the State
