I tend to agree withOdeniyi. There are more State Universities than the ones stated in the list. For example Imo State University, Owerri is not listed despite been there before some Universities we have now.

The worst thing that has ever happened to our nigerian private university is madonna university….where student are treated like secondary students..dey also ve problems with accomodation,where by in some rooms u ve as many as ten(10) students in a room,students are flogged like secondary school pupils…electricity is very horrible,water supply is very poor..i can go on and on.,madonna is FUCKED…..

all right if Madonna is the best Uni in Naija can anyone of you tell me why in a UNIVERSITY you have hall reps (like my secondary school house captain), who wake fellow students up in the middle of the night and hand them over to school security officers for offences as flimsy as breaking bounds? I agree that some State Universities I know of, were not published. Could it be that they aren’t accredited? Also, as regards fees in Private Universities, I wouldn’t say any is particularly low priced, they are all quite expensive subject however to what you consider expensive or inexpensive. On the contoversies of certain Private Universities, I’ll speak for the ones I went to and experienced. As at when I went to Madonna Uni.,its state in terms of Academic strength, accommodation, electricity and water was really poor to say the least and students were treated shabbily. It’s been many years now though, things might have changed. I prefer Benson Idahosa University. I’m not claiming it’s the best cos I haven’t been to other Universities but please, everyone’s entiltled to an opinion. Cheers!

Check out federal university of technology yola.In northeast universities,we are ahead while others follow.we have one of the best biotechnology center you can think of.Department of Agricultural and environmental engineering Fut yola ,the father of all engineering and master of all with achievable application of science result in research and hard working student and lecturals.come to think of it you can’t beat the reach.

I think nigerians should stop celebrating creation of more new universities.what hope have the students after graduating? Where is the job? The schools founder should rethink and invest in other sectors, things that can put food on the table of an average nigerians. Dangote is a good example,expanding businesses everday,kudos to him. We can work together and make Nigeria grate. Natural resources all over the land. More universities should be discouraged,if at all we need more it should be technological and agricutural universities that will develop manpower in research advancement.

i am very sorry 2 say but madonna university is not d best university.in fact i believe is d worst. how can student pay schoolfees into only one bank. a school that has been dere since 1999.a new university like turkish nile nd baze wich just started dont pay schl fees into only bank.they re meant to be d best am very sorry 2 say but d schl is not impressing me at all .look at loyal jesuit its owned by a catholic nd its up2 standard. infact it is one of d best sec schls in nigeria.as far as am concerned madonna is d worst university in nigeria not the best.

Why is it that citizens of one country can’t get admission in a state that he/she is not an indigenous to the state university that he/she applied for irrespective of meeting up their requirement.citizens of a country still practise racism in terms of admission.
it all about corruption, Nigeria is now corrupted to the extent that connection without money no school, so citizens that can’t afford private universities will have to study hard to make better future for them selves & their generation. So never lose hope (what is not enough today may be in excess tomorrow)

All this rumours about what is going on in private or non-private universities should be within the union.Ok youy people don’t talk about federal,states and private polythenics then what about college of educations.NOTE all are school and are under institution BUT what matters most is, was a job offer to you after your education or did you have something doing after passing through the institution.
Think of the knowledge we have gained in the institution after all the knowledge still we did not have something doind to make both ends meet.
If they don’t offer us any job or we didn’t create job by ourselves that means all that we learnt in the institution is a waste but not only a waste but anyone who did not pass through education is BETTER than those hat pass through education.
